The British Virgin Islands are famous, maybe too famous, for the exceptional sailing conditions. The Sir Francis Drake channel is a large, beautiful and protected sailing area with steady winds perfect for the new and seasoned sailors alike.  The Baths, an extraordinary agglomeration of large boulders, is world famous, and the diving, whether SCUBA or snorkel, is varied and can be challenging.  The ‘Wreck of the Rhone’ attracts divers from all over the world.  The restaurant and night life are varied, from quiet to family friendly to rowdy, from bar food to good bar food to gourmet.

We love the Spanish Virgin Islands, those are the islands east of Puerto Rico.  Vieques delivers anchorages you can have all to yourself, Culebra has fantastic bars and restaurants and its north shore harbors some of the most beautiful beaches we have ever seen… and if you like dancing, then… this is Puerto Rico after all!!

During the months of July through October we are out of the hurricane belt, either south around Grenada, or north in the Chesapeake.

Sharp peaks reflecting onto blue water, the Caribbean islands are legendary.   The weather is warm but really never hot.  In the winter and early spring the temperature dips to the 70’s at night and remains in the low to mid 80’s during the day.  The constant breeze keeps everyone comfortable.  Even in the late spring and summer, the temperature rarely reaches 90 degrees.  The Virgin Islands are even more unique as they are a gathering of many small islands that are an easy sail from each other.  The US, British and Spanish Virgins each have their character.

The US Virgin Islands are great, no passport needed.  St. John is 75% National Park with wonderful bays, outstanding snorkeling and a network of trails for hikers of all levels.  St. Croix, often forgotten has its attractions, its protected rainforest is worth the trip.  St. Thomas offers great beaches, snorkeling, shopping and entertainment galore.
